RDV is pleased to have attended and exhibited at the recent 54th annual International Highway Engineers Exchange Program (IHEEP). IHEEP is an international organization which promotes the exchange of information relating to highway and bridge engineering among its members, specifically addressing the use of computer technology in the engineering process. This year’s IHEEP conference was hosted by Alabama Department of Transportation and was held in Montgomery, Alabama from September 16-20. It was attended by over 200 representatives from numerous Departments of Transportation from the United States, Canada, Poland, Italy, Croatia, Rumania, and the Czech Republic, as well as several transportation consultants and technology vendors.
RDV was represented by Kevin Stewart, North America Director of Operations. Kevin has been an active IHEEP participant and presenter since 1989. For this conference Kevin delivered a presentation featuring RDV technology entitled “Interactive Visualization – A New Tool for Addressing Infrastructure Business Issues”. |

RDV technologies selected by the National Road Safety Authority.
RDV was selected to by the National Road Safety Authority to provide a real-time 3D interactive solution to help in the investigation of fatal road accidents. Using RDV technologies investigators can reconstruct accidents directly from forensic data and police reports and are able to gain an instant understanding of the factors involved from any point of view. RDV's realtime 3D capabilities by far exceed the old paradigm of producing reconstructions through the use of avi technologies. What in the past typically took weeks to produce is now available to accident investigators with a few mouse clicks. |

RDV works with the Israel National Roads Corporation to improve road safety.
RDV was asked by the Israel National Roads Corporation to participate in a safety analysis survey for Road 85. RDV's Rapid Road Safety Analysis package was put to the test to determine what improvements could be made to the safety audit process as it exists today. Using RDV's tools planners are able to analyze the 3D geometry of a designed road and do critical digitally based performance analysis. Preliminary results show that RDV's patented technologies are not only able to identify all sub-standard geometry criteria that are typically evaluated manually by engineering and safety consultants but additionally are able flag and report on a multitude of specific critical safety criteria which would otherwise have been overlooked using the historic process alone. |
