Haifa airport Here is a real life example of how project engineers used RDV to model and present a potential conflict between a new highway bridge construction and the protected airspace surrounding an approach path to a regional airport. In this case the actual highway bridge is within acceptable building limits near the end of the runway. However, to construct the project the contractor will need to set up a gantry to bring in pre-fab bridge sections. The gantry itself is a potential risk to safe flight operations. Using RDV engineers were able to visualize all the relevant aspects of the construction process as well as the protected airspace surfaces, and simulate worst-case scenarios for aircraft performance enabling them make recommendations to ensure continued safe operations. |
